Too many extracurricular activities, Max. Not enough studying.

bgtBattle Group Theta
Car Owner’s Collective
Starfleet Battle Group Theta is a Starfleet task force deployed in the Delta Quadrant, Sectors 1, 2, and 15 to prevent or stop enemy incursions. (Battle Group Theta, in reality, is a group of friends and fellow geeks (and a couple of significant others) who enjoy Trek (amongst other things) and have decided to engage in the fun of the trappings of a Battle Group. The reasons for choosing “theta” are known only to those in the know. The “craft” in question are, indeed, the automobiles each of us drive. Please don’t fault us for being silly. You know you have silliness in your life, too.) #

ccmCap City Mob
Hip-Hop Group
Lodged somewhere in the rap game between the old school, the new school, the current East Coast style, and a little bit of something else, the Cap City Mob aims to make their presence known in the next year like never before. Their latest album Saints of Tribal Science manages to surprise fans and critics alike with its unique style, fresh energy, and catchy hooks, carving out a niche as the premiere sound of the New Old School, calling back to the fun and excitement of the Golden Age of Hip-Hop without sounding like a parody or pale imitation. This is the real thing. #

geeseGeese
Power Pop Group
The Geese are a power-pop outfit from Tallahassee, Florida, which formed in the summer of 1994. Taking a cue from their influences of the Beatles, Weezer, Led Zeppelin, Cheap Trick, and the Pixies, the Geese have improved with age, crafting a unique blend of hand-crafted hooks and rock-hard riffs. “If it rocks and it’s catchy,” says 22, “then that’s how I write ‘em.” Between their latest album, A Slow and Vicious Smile,  and their previous album, Aquamarine, that’s all you need to know about their range and power. #

grGentleman Robot
Glam/Classic Rock Group
Rock duo consisting of 22 (guitars/background vocals) and singer/songwriter Rachel Rhodes (lead vocals/guitars). Rachel’s awesome vocals lift the retro-inspired tunes to great heights, ranging from classic hard rock (”Hot Rod Fever”) to neo-glam (”Stardust Diamond Boys”), both from their debut EP Golden Gods#

gnlGruber & Leigh
Comedy Group
Formed in late 2006 by 69 and 22, this team actually managed to knock out three album’s worth of comedy in December 2006 (Pope Belligerent and Your GranMore Powerful Than You Can Possibly Imagine, and Get Your Leprechaun On), none of which has been made publicly available yet. (Yet.) The two have also made very preliminary plans for a regular comedy podcast.

mkMegakelvin
Pop-Punk Group
Our newest project is this pop-punk duo named Megakelvin. The instrumentation is all 22, but the lead singer is the one and only 44. So far, the entire debut EP (Perfect Concussion) has only one track, but who knows what the future holds? If this stuff doesn’t make you bounce with happy, you just ain’t human. ["Son of a Gun" | 2:23 | 4.2MB] #

topsThe Obscene Psychedelic Sounds*
Comedy Group
Formed in 1987 by 42 and 22, this duo recorded several albums of comedy, including 1991’s Ganglion of the Wicker People and 1992’s Abusive Therapy. In 2005, they began planning for a new album, Gospel of Clean and Aggressive Strength. It barely moved beyond the planning stages, but several skits were written. The group  disbanded on the death of 42 in 2008.

orchestra50Orchestra 50
Funk-Soul Group
This outfit was created to showcase songs written for a nascent blaxploitation parody called (here goes that name again) Ready Demolition (see: Ready Demolition, Stubborn Things). So far, there’s only four songs, but all of ‘em are perfectly authentic, but with a dash of rock thrown in for good measure. ["The Return of the Killa" | 2:29 | 5.2MB] #

rdReady Demolition*
Rock Group
This group took shape in 2007, event hough the members (22 and 42) had been planning to form a rock group since 1994. They recorded several rough tracks for an album (Tricky Species), only one of which, a cover of Kiss’s “Strutter”, was ever completed. The group  disbanded on the death of 42 in 2008. #

stStubborn Things
Comedy Group
One half is 19, the other is 22, and we don’t mean their ages.  Formed in 2008 as the hosts of a politically-themed podcast also entitled “Stubborn Things,” this duo evolved the show by early 2009 into pure comedy and pop culture commentary because, as 22 puts it, “It’s just more fun.” However, after 32 episodes of “Stubborn Things,” the show is done. However, the best of their comedy still exists on their second show, called “Ready Demolition,” which is available for subscription at the iTunes Music Store. Their debut album, tentatively titled One Hundred and Fifteen Dollars, should be dropping soon. # #

uftUnified Field Theory
Power Pop Group
Duo consisting of 22 (instrumentation/background vocals) and 28 (lead vocals). You like-a da power pop? We gotta da power pop! One unfinished album in the work (Process of a Lemonade Stand) and several covers stand as their legacy, but who knows? They could come out of retirement to rock-a you socks.
